

Inception meeting with the stakeholders October 10, 2024
The inception meeting of the project "Nature-Based Solutions to Increase Community Resilience Against Climate-Induced Disasters - NBS-CORES" was held in Batumi, Ajara on October 8, 2024. the , gathering key stakeholders and beneficiaries.
Representatives of the beneficiaries, stakeholders and other interested parties participated in the event. The public and private sectors, national authorities, local governments, NGOs/CBOs, local educational institutions and scientific academia were presented at the meeting.
The project aims were presented to the participants by the representatives of the project partners (Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) and Ecolution Georgia). Particular activities related to the reduction and management of climate change-induced disasters through nature-based solutions (NBS), enhancing the resilience of communities in the target municipalities (Kobuleti, Keda, Khelvachauri, Shuakhevi, Khulo, and Batumi) were discussed with the stakeholders.
This transnational project fosters cooperation between three Black Sea Basin countries—Georgia, Turkey, and Greece—while incorporating the European Union’s best practices. It is being implemented by four partner organizations: the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA), Ecolution Georgia, WRI Türkiye, and the Forest Research Institute - DIMITRA.
The project is co-financed by the European Union under the "Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Program" and will run until the end of 2026.
